"THIS IS NOT A MONEY ISSUE, THIS IS A LIFE ISSUE"

Walker Gladden lll of Rose Street Community Center attempted to sue Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley and the City of Baltimore for $1.00 at small claims court for the increasing number of homicides in Baltimore City. The Mayor had previously vowed that he would reduce the homicide rate to 175. The rate was way over the 175 number and still climbing at the time we engaged with him.
The result was a series of posters, tee shirts and a CD media pack that was sent to all local and national media outlets. At the time of the courtroom case there were tee shirts, posters, signs, cameras, newspeople etc. Certainly this was a grand day for the community and for the role of design education and a social responder.
